A Letter From BYU Dean of Continuing Education
Lee J. Glines
Dear President or Bishop,

As you speak to young adults, you may find that some of them have a desire to seek an education at a school sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While some may have a clear plan, others May need guidance and second chances. We're writing to tell you about new educational opportunities that could help.
BYU FelxGE is the fastest-growing program offered by BYU Continuing Education, and it is easy to see why. Almost anyone with a U.S. high school diploma or GED can attend in-person BYU classes and earn credit, attend church in a Young Single Adult (YSA) or Married Student ward, and participate in campus events - all without being admitted to BYU. While many BYU FlexGE students later pursue a degree at BYU or another school, a new collaboration with Ensign College opens up even more possibilities.

Ensign College can now admit BYU FlexGe students as degree-seeking students, which allows them to apply for federal financial aid and earn an associate degree that aligns with their longer-term goals. Both programs offer course locations at the Triad Center in Salt Lake City. Students can concurrently take BYU FlexGe and Ensign College courses to explore their educational options and then later apply to BYU or another school as a transfer student.

It is our hope that this new collaboration will help more young adults seek and complete their college education. The BYU FlexGE experience, including the BYU academic and social atmosphere, can be a great place to start. And now, with an Ensign College degree option, even more possibilities are open to students.

Thank you in advance for giving these opportunities prayerful consideration.

Sincerely,
Lee J. Glines, Dean
